Marlén Romero García is an Associate Attorney with the Law Offices of Shirley Sadjadi. Marlén obtained her Bachelor’s Degree with a double major in Political Science and Spanish/Hispanic Linguistics from the University of Illinois at Chicago, during which time she assisted at the Bilingualism Research Laboratory. Shortly after obtaining her degree, Marlén worked as a Community Outreach Counselor then an Immigration Counselor for Centro de Informacion in Elgin, Illinois. It was through her work with the community where she realized her true passion, assisting immigrants as they traversed our complex immigration system.
Marlén obtained her Paralegal Certification with Elgin Community College, working as a Paralegal at ROS Law Firm and then Global Immigration Associates. In 2019, Marlén graduated from Northern Illinois University College of Law where she received an award for her work in public interest. As a law student, Marlén interned at Law Offices of Shirley Sadjadi, Chicago Immigration Court, and Asylum Seeker Advocacy Project. Marlen worked as a Staff Attorney for National Immigrant Justice Center before returning to our Law Offices.
Marlén continues to help her community by volunteering at local nonprofit organizations as a volunteer and through legal services. She is bilingual in English and Spanish. Marlén is a member of the Chicago Chapter of American Immigration Lawyers Association. She is admitted to practice law in Illinois.
